It is the night (well, day) before Christmas, and all through the house, the cats are trying their hardest to destroy the Christmas decorations. One set of tree lights gone already (with a cat left feeling rather sorry for herself having chewed through the cable, although she is now absolutely fine, just with eight of her nine lives remaining).
For my family, Christmas Eve is when Christmas properly starts (although with this positively balmy and bright weather we're having, it doesn't feel very festive outside! Where's the snow, or at least the crisp frost?). Today is also my great-aunt and uncle's wedding anniversary and would have been my maternal grandparents' wedding anniversary too. So another reason to celebrate.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas indeed, whatever it is you are doing, and whoever you are sharing it with. A special thought for everyone working over the festive period - thank you for keeping the country running!
