Photo an hour - 21st February

I've seen #photoanhour on Twitter and Instagram before, but haven't joined in.  This weekend, I remembered all about it and was ready to go!  So here's my collection of photos from Saturday...

9am - a leisurely start to the day, cup of tea and some reading on the sofa.

10am - I hadn't moved very far, just twisted round on the sofa to do some jigsaw.

11am - the chocolate box in the kitchen has been restocked.

12pm - I ran some errands in town, buying some sweets from an olde worlde sweete shoppe and picking up some books from the library.  I'd requested The Miniaturist a while ago and the other book is a children's classic I've not read before.

1pm - it was lovely and sunny so I added a yellow square to my sky blanket.

2pm - a late lunch of homemade butternut squash, sweet potato and ginger soup.

3pm - I've done a lot of cooking recently to restock the freezer, that results in a lot of washing up!

4pm - a rather broken Creme Egg to accompany a cup of tea

5pm - sorting out some yarn. A friend has recently bought her first house so I'm thinking of a housewarming present I can make.

7pm - dinner of broccoli, spinach and chickpea curry. Adventures in vegan cooking, very delicious it was too.

9pm - sewing badges on to my camp blanket. Trying to get as many done as possible before the Brownie sleepover next weekend!

11pm - bed is one of my most favourite places. Bright bed linen, my Slanket, a hot water bottle and what is turning out to be a very good book.

So that was my Saturday, lots of pottering around and cooking and eating and reading. I missed a few hours as I was on the phone, or otherwise distracted.

Thank you to Jane and Louisa for organising and hosting #photoanhour, do have a look at the hashtag on Twitter and Instagram to see what other people were up to - there was a definite theme of people having cups of tea at 4pm!

  1. It made me laugh to see us all posting cups of tea at 4 o'clock - we're all so British! Your sky blanket is looking amazing and I love the pops of bright yellow, such a good decision to include them

    1. I'm so glad I went with yellow too - it really breaks up the grey and white. Surprisingly, winter weather has been quite good, it hasn't rained all the time!

  4. This post is great, I'm definitely going to get involved next time! The Miniaturist is on my list to read for my book club so I'm holding off starting it for a while. I'm looking forward to reading your review of it though!

  5. Yay, thanks for taking part! That definitely looks like a good chocolate box, I can't believe Easter is only just over a month away but I still haven't managed to munch a crème egg or pack of mini eggs yet! Saturday 21st March is the next photo an hour - see you then! :-) xx

    1. It's a very good chocolate box - and its contents have been depleted since the weekend!

  6. Yey for vegan cooking! I love your sky blanket and your camp one, I have a little collection of badges from the Rainbows unit I help at, I must start sewing them on a blanket (I think it'll take me a long time to get as many as you though!).
