The Year in Books - another reading challenge!

I came across a lovely reading challenge idea here, the idea being to read a book a month, to post at the start of the month what you intend to read, and then at the end of the month write a few comments about it.

I love the idea of reading together, whilst this isn't a book group, as people don't have to read the same book, it's a great way of sharing a love of reading, passing on recommendations (of books to read, as well as perhaps books to avoid!) and perhaps discovering new authors.

Hopefully I'll be reading more than one book a month, but I hope that by participating in this challenge I'll have one book I will definitely read in the next few weeks, I'm going to choose books I've had in my possession for ages, as I'm hoping this will encourage me to read books I already have, rather than accumulate more! I know no one else can see just how many books there are to read on my Kindle, but some more space on my bookshelves would be appreciated.

I'm a bit late to this challenge, but I'm currently reading The Family Way by Tony Parsons.

  2. What a lovely eclectic mix of posts! Made for an interesting read. I found you, by the way, on the year in books blog which I also joined a few weeks ago. It seemed to me to be a good way to discover new authors - well, new to me anyway - and new blogs also. I like yours, I'll be back!

    1. Thank you for the lovely comment! That's one reason why I love challenges like this, it's great to see what other people are reading and what they think of them.
